Fulfilling its commitment towards ensuring learning beyond the classroom, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur adopts learning pedagogies in the form of seminars, workshops, panel discussions, symposiums, and guest lectures to expose the learners to the practicalities of the lessons of law learnt in the classroom. Our endeavor, especially at the postgraduate level, is to train our students to conduct quality research and publication.

In line with this vision, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur organized a Guest Lecture on February 15, 2025, on the topic “Drafting of Bail Application” from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.

The distinguished resource person for the lecture was Advocate Sumedh Kadam, a practicing Advocate at the Bombay High Court, Nagpur Bench.

Adv. Kadam guided the participants through the basics of bail applications, explaining in detail the different types of bail, their nature, scope, and application. He provided a comprehensive framework on the legal provisions related to bail under the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sahita (BNSS).

After laying the foundational knowledge, Adv. Kadam delved into the practical aspects of drafting a bail application. He explained the step-by-step process of planning and drafting a bail application, emphasizing the importance of clarity, precision, and legal reasoning in such petitions.

To reinforce the learning, Adv. Kadam conducted a hands-on session where participants were given a simulation exercise to draft a bail application. He guided them through the process, offering valuable insights and practical tips on how to construct a compelling bail petition.

The session was highly interactive, with participants engaging in a lively discussion and posing intriguing questions about the nuances of bail law, particularly focusing on how to effectively draft the prayer clause in a bail application.

The guest lecture concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Soumya Srivastava, Assistant Professor, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur.
