The Industry Institute Partnership Cell of Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur organized an online workshop on “Drafting an Arbitration Agreement” on February 10th, 2025. The workshop was conducted by Adv. Aniket Dabadghao, Advocate, Bombay High Court, Nagpur Bench. The workshop commenced with the introduction of the Hon’ble Guest speaker.
The session started with a warm and gracious welcome address delivered by Dr. Shilpa Sharma, Assistant Professor, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur. In her opening speech, she extended a heartfelt greeting to all the distinguished guests, participants, and attendees, setting a positive and enthusiastic tone for the occasion. Her words highlighted the significance of the event, expressed appreciation for everyone's presence, and underscored the purpose of the gathering. Her welcoming remarks served as an excellent introduction, preparing the audience for the insightful sessions and discussions to follow.
Thereafter, Advocate Aniket Dabadghao took the stage to provide an in-depth explanation of the technicalities involved in drafting an arbitration agreement. In his detailed session, he carefully broke down the essential elements of a well-constructed arbitration clause, emphasizing the importance of clarity and precision in language. He discussed key aspects such as the choice of arbitral institution, the selection of arbitrators, the scope of the disputes to be resolved, and the governing laws to be applied.
Through practical examples and real-world case studies, Adv. Dabadghao highlighted common pitfalls to avoid and shared valuable insights into drafting enforceable and effective arbitration agreements. His expert guidance helped attendees better understand the nuances of creating legally sound arbitration clauses, ensuring a smoother dispute resolution process in future contracts.
The session was moderated throughout by Dr. Charvi Kumar, Assistant Professor, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur. More than 160 students attended and enthusiastically participated in the lecture. She remained actively engaged, offering support to both the speaker and the students ensuring an interactive environment.
At the conclusion of the session, Dr. Kavita Sharma, Assistant Professor, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, bringing the event to a gracious and fitting close. In her speech, she expressed sincere gratitude to all the speakers for sharing their valuable insights, to the participants for their active engagement, and to the organizing team for their hard work in making the event a success.
