Adv. Meet is a lawyer and animal rights advocate with over twelve years of demonstrated experience in the field of animal cruelty and abuse, skilled in animal protection laws, police training on animal protection laws, environmental awareness and protection, volunteer training, awareness raising, curbing wildlife trade, wildlife crime and animal rights.
He is the youngest to be appointed as an Honorary Animal Welfare Officer in Maharashtra and India. He has been awarded the prestigious Mumbai Meri Jaan - Vocational Service Award by Rotary Club of Bombay and the Vocational Excellence Award by Rotary Club of Thane for his work in the field of animal rights.
Currently working with renowned animal rights organization PETA India as Associate Manager of the Emergency Response Team. He is also an Advisor to the Maharashtra Animal Welfare Board, a statutory body of the Government of Maharashtra.
At PETA India, his role is managing the Emergency Response Team, handling cases of animal cruelty and abuse from across the country, he is also a campaigner working on policy level changes and implementation thereof on campaigns relating to animal rights.
At the Maharashtra Animal Welfare Board, he assists the Board in implementation of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Dog Breeding and Marketing) Rules, 2017 and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Pet Shop) Rules, 2018 across the state of Maharashtra and also advises the board on animal rights issues in the state.
Adv. Meet has worked as an Honorary Animal Welfare Officer for the Animal Welfare Board of India, a statutory body of the Government of India (Sept 2016 to Sept 2019) and as Honorary Animal Welfare Officer for the Committee to Monitor Animal Welfare Laws in Maharashtra, a committee appointed by the Bombay High Court and Government of Maharashtra (Feb 2014 - March 2016.
