In order to work in the field of tax laws, the Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur created the Centre for Taxation Laws in 2022. A strong taxation system acts as the foundation of a healthy economy and helps to raise funds for the government's welfare obligations. Since the civil society can only stay informed and involved in any field of law through constant analysis and discussion, academics have established a center specifically for tax legislation to bring academia, industry, and government together on a single platform. In the future, we will engage with all stakeholders by hosting conferences, workshops, seminars, colloquia, programs for building capacity, and publications on the hot-button issues surrounding tax laws.
THE CENTRE'S INTENT:
SLS Nagpur has established the ADR Cell (ADRC) which consists of entrusted student members for administering various ADR activities, responsibly, under the guidance of the faculty in-charge of the cell. The mandate of the ADRC encompasses the promotion and conduction of a wide array of dispute resolution mechanisms, relevant to today's legal world, and introduce them to the students of SLS Nagpur.
AIM OF THE CENTRE:
In order for the student community to understand the importance of tax laws and receive hands-on training from recognized authorities in this subject, we seek to foster a high-level research environment. As the government prioritizes changing the tax rules, we also want to continuously offer policy interventions in the form of comments and feedback. In particular, as the world works to update the outdated international tax code developed for the brick and mortar economy for the digital economy, we want to watch, analyze, and participate in this process to ensure that it continues to be relevant for the requirements of a developing economy like India for generating revenue.
OBJECTIVE OF THE CENTRE:
We strive to develop a pool of academics, lawyers, researchers, professionals, students, and others who are involved in developing, implementing, formulating, and analyzing the present tax laws on a national as well as an international level with the help of this larger objective.
WORK SPECIFICATIONS:
The center will continue to offer the best of each option to the students while keeping a variety of options open, including courtroom practice, corporate law, public service, judiciary, academician, journalist, banking services, JAG Branch-Army, Law Journal's Editorial Committee, competitive/judicial examination preparation, government lawyers and consultants, and so forth. They can prioritize their area of interest and the supplementary information available to students in other fields with the help of this. The student support center gave him enough exposure over his educational years to keep his other list of alternatives open and provided enough direction that if one option turns out to not be a good fit for his interests and personality, he won't have to start again.
